another in the photography series...

I call this one "Mama's Face."

how I see my mother...

I have taken to grabbing Moma's iPhone and using the camera to snap
pictures of her. In all actuality, I've been grabbing her iPhone from
her since birth, but I like to think of myself as a budding
photographer.

here's the latest in a new series of pictures of Mama's body parts.
it's a piece I've dubbed "Right Elbow."

iPod Mastery

I'm not sure if it's my general mastery of all music-related objects, or their new marketing campaign for toddlers, but I think I've got these iPods down. I can show how in a few easy steps:

First, choose the right iPod. In this case, I'm unplugging Dada's iPod Touch in favor of the little red Nano. You are probably as equally impressed by the Touch's features and touch screen as my Dada, but to a 23-month-old (as of today if you want to send presents), the color and shape of the iPod is of utmost importance. Image is everything.

Next, I plug in the headphones to the red Nano.

The last step is to carefully place the earbuds in my ears (they don't really fit, but I'm okay with that).

With that, I'm ready to pump up the jams.

Someday...

I must deeply want to follow in my Dada's footsteps because here I am
sitting in his chair at work. As you can tell, I have been practicing
my "teacher look." After all, discipline is all about attitude.

the sad thing is...

moments later, I threw a mild tantrum when I realized that this
wasn't cocoa I was mixing. I really think that EVERY drink I mix
should include some cocoa.

I just realized...

most of my blog posts are of me playing drums. I must be obsessed or something.

boy plays drum machine

So, as most of you know, I'm a child prodigy. The latest area of early mastery for me is combined DJ-ing and dancing. I'm basically an all-in-one dance party, able to lay down my own beats and jam to them. Before you get skeptical, check this out.

The Little Drummer Boy!

Well after all of those years that my Daddy had to sing "Pa-rum-pa-pa-pum," he has finally found a reason to like the song. It seems that this whole time the little drummer boy was in fact, me, his little boy. I may not have the widest range of beats, or the best rhythm developed yet, but I do know all that it takes to be a pretty cool drummer. Check it out:

So first, all great drummers make sure that they use both hands and both feet and hit everything in sight. So as you can see, I have the both hands thing going, but sadly, my feet don't quite reach the pedals yet. When they do though, watch out because as you can see, the purple puppy shoes are clearly going to be the next great trend in footwear.

The next thing that all great drummers do is look cool. You can't make it look like you're working really hard, or you end up looking constipated. Or worse yet, you end up looking all cramped up and seizure prone like that guy from the Romantics. So the key is to look like drumming comes so naturally to you that you could be looking over your shoulder, ordering a pizza, or reading a book while playing. It should like something like this:

Finally, you should look like you are having fun when playing drums. You definitely want to hit them hard and look like a bad animal, but you certainly don't want to look like you are in pain. You want to look like it's the best thing you could be doing with your time. Even better than writing your blog. So that would look something like this:

just like Daddy

I like burritos a lot. some might say too much, but I could probably
eat one every day... just don't let Mama hold it for me because I
clearly have this thing under control.

Beach Trip

There's really not much to say about this other than that I deeply love my Mama.

...well, I guess I could add that Mama took me to the beach and let me check out the tidepools at low tide. It's pretty crazy to try and manage a one-and-a-half-year-old while navigating slime-covered rocks while he tries to poke his fingers into every urchin, sea anemone, starfish, and crab in sight, but she did it and I made it out without injury. I guess you could say I have a Super Mama.

wait a minute!

my Daddy was supposed to take me to my first Seahawks game today, but
instead he decided to take Uncle Ben. that's okay with me I guess,
I'll just hope it's my turn next year.

ready to ride

sure my feet may not reach the pedals yet, but those minor details
aren't worrisome enough to keep me from riding.

all I need to do is secure the keys from Daddy when he's not looking,
and I'll be set. well that and getting him to stop following a foot
behind me with his "just-in-case-you-fall" arm of protection.
