Big Boy Bed!
Well I am no longer a baby and can officially move up to the ranks of big boy because today Mama and Dada broke down my crib and replaced it with a big boy bed (Well actually, as always, I did most of the work, but let them go on thinking that they had done everything for me).
It started last night when Mama and Dada brought home a bed frame for me (I'm pretty sure that even though Mama found it on Craigslist, that it was my influence that truly picked it out). I danced around, jumped in between the fame slats and kept shouting, "Big Boy Bed! Big Boy Bed!" (I have a hard time restaining myself when I get excited, but you have to realize this is a pretty big step for me).
So this morning, we went to Ikea (a word that I'm pretty good at saying) in search of a mattress for my new bed. I successfully managed to not only convince Mama and Dada that I needed to stop at the Ikea cafe for brunch (my bowl of cereal this morning was pretty small after all), and then pulled off a minor coup by threatening a tantrum in order to get a stuffed soccer ball added to our shopping cart (I do have World Cup Fever you know). After the nice meal and a bunch of stops to "wash" my hands at EVERY demo sink in Ikea (I like to test my parents' patience a bit), we left with this:
It's a twin mattress with a new animal bedspread, pillow, and fitted sheet (not to mention a bonus stuffed soccer ball).
I had my two Hop on Pops test the bed out, and they fit it perfectly...
So then I snuck under the covers to test it out myself...
After Dada tucked me in, and I broke it in with this afternoon's nap... and I have to say I'm pretty proud of the work I've done!

Even a professional drummer like myself can sometimes run into a snafu or two.
While I work hard on my craft, making sure that my sticks are straight...
...and that my toms are balanced...
...that the kick pedal is working properly...
...even a pro like me has a hard time when I hit my finger with my sticks...
...and sometimes only Mama can make things better!
